OK perhaps that's not quite true and unfortunately the magical CD mastering machine has not yet been invented.
However, rest assured once you submit an order our mastering engineers will do their very best to make sure we master and manufacture your music to the highest possible professional standards. We do actually have some pretty magical mastering tools and equipment. Plug ins from the the likes of Focusrite, Massenburg, Sony, TC Electronics, Waves and many more. Our extensively equipped mastering studio is based around a top of the range Digidesign Pro Tools HD accel system. This Pro Tools set up runs on our Apple Mac G5 together with Bias Peak Pro software.
CD Mastering Options.
Disc manufacturing can be carried out by means of CD duplication or CD replication. If you are thinking of having your music duplicated or replicated there is a process that is essential for guaranteed playback of your music. For successful CD duplication or CD replication you must have a red book compliant PMCD master. PMCD is an abbreviation for Pre Master Compact Disc. If you proceed to duplicate or replicate your discss without a red book master then you run the risk of unreliable playback of your manufactured discs. Red book standard is the set of specifications governed by Philips. Philips are actually the inventors of the compact disc and control all rights to the format. All audio discs and players manufactured in the world must comply with these red book standards to ensure reliable playback. We offer 3 levels of service, each level produces a red book standard PMCD master that can be used to manufacture your discs.
Service Level 1
PMCD Mastering
£20 + £1 Per Track.
If you are satisfied with the sound of your audio tracks and no further EQ, limiting or processing is required we can produce a red book master directly from your audio tracks. The necessary information such as PQ coding and ISRC coding is then added. Finally a red book compliant production master is burnt.
Service Level 2
Single Pass Audio Mastering and PMCD Mastering
£40 + £5 Per Track.
If all your audio tracks have been mixed down during the same studio session and the sound is uniform but lacking level and punch then one pass mastering may be suitable. We set up a suitable chain of processing such as EQ, compression and limiting. We then apply this same process to all the audio tracks. The required PMCD mastering is then applied to produce the red book production master.
Service Level 3
Individual Track
Audio Mastering and PMCD Mastering
£40 + £10 Per Track.
If your audio tracks are from different studio sessions or have varying levels and EQ then our full mastering service level 3 is most suitable. All tracks are processed separately with any necessary EQ, compression, limiting and other required audio mastering to give an optimised and a uniform sound across your master. PQ coding and other PMCD mastering such as ISRC coding and CD text programming can then be applied to produce a red book master ready for manufacture.

CD Album Manufacturing.
Once we have produced your PMCD red book master we can offer a range of CD Album manufacturing services through our parent company Testa-Rossa duplication and replication.
For small orders up to 500 copies we would recommend CD duplication. This copying process burns your audio content to a high quality CD-R disc manufactured by Sony. We only use the best CD-R media available for this service. Your duplicated CDs can then be printed using black thermal print, grayscale thermal print or full colour thermal gloss print. A range of packaging and printed parts are available to finish off your duplication order.
For larger CD album manufacturing runs of 500 copies and above we would recommend CD replication. This method of manufacturing involves pressing the discs using a master stamper and is the way all high street music CDs are produced. Replicated CDs can be printed using 5 colour screenprint or full colour offset litho print. We also offer an extensive range of full colour booklets, inlays and packaging to finish off your album to a professional retail standard.
